The Fly Swat activity is one of my all time favorite activities. It’s amazing how something as simple as words printed on flies and a fly swatter purchased at a dollar store can keep even the most reluctant students practicing words for hours! To assemble this activity simply print the files, laminate (optional) and cut the flies along the dotted line. Place a little velcro dot on each fly and then a velcro strip on the fly swatter and you’re all set. Have your students take turns “swatting” the flies and reading the words on the files that stick to the swatter. I know- so simple, but they absolutely LOVE this hands-on activity.
