I’ve been having so much fun with the Cookie Sheet Challenge! For those of you just joining me, I set a goal to see how many fun activities I can make using cookie sheets purchased at Walmart and a can of metal spray paint. The challenge is to make as many activities as I can until I run out of paint. So far I’ve painted 6 cookie sheets–that means 6 different activities– and barely made a dent in the can of paint. I’m going to be quite busy with this project for some time.
Cookie Sheet Activities Volume 2 activities are activities targeting early math skills. All activities allow for differentiation can be used during small group instruction or as activities within your math centers. The first activity is number order. There are five templates for number order 1-10, 4 templates for number order 1-20 and 5 templates for number order 1-100. Magnetic numbers are used for number order templates 1-10. I purchase the letters used for CSC Volume 1 and the numbers for CSC Volume 2 online through Banks School Supply. I’m pretty picky about the shapes of the letters and numbers and I like these the best, but magnet numbers purchased at a dollar store would work just fine. The next activity targets basic number concepts. For this activity, you will need manipulatives for counting. I use small erasers which I purchase through Oriental Trading since they have seasonal themes and erasers which target student interests such as sports-themed erasers. I then purchase magnetic business cards which I cut and adhere to the back of the number cards and erasers.
